I am a physiotherapist living in Cape Town, South Africa, with 50 years of experience as a clinician and physiotherapy lecturer. I am also grandmother to three children now aged 6, 9 and 11 years. I have had the wonderful opportunity to observe, analyze and film their development when they were little. This was a great opportunity to about development and how children differ.
.
Over my 50 years of practice I have closely followed the scientific research about development and the best ways to help babies and toddlers with movement difficulties and developmental delay to learn to move well. If you would like to read more about the scientific background and evidence for practice please visit my Task Oriented Movement Therapy website.
I have created this website to provide parents and carers with information that will help them understand their children's development. It provides support and guidance about what you can do to help your baby or toddler develop in the best possible way. It is intended to complement the help you may be getting from your physical or occupational therapist and to support those who may be struggling to access professional developmental help.
